Columbus School for Girls Reviews

CSG is fabulous. Girls become so confident and assured. The curriculum is innovative and challenging and the school attracts a wide spectrum of students who enrich the educational experience.

There is simply no better place in town for an exceptional education for your girls. My child is currently finishing her first year there (9th grade) and she has been challenged and lifted to a new place as a student. Every day she comes home with exciting stories of wonderful teachers and amazing lessons. She will be well prepared for college, and much sooner than 12th grade. The school offers amazing educational opportunities and also opportunities one may not anticipate. It is worth every dollar to send your daughter there if education is your top priority and your daughter really enjoys learning.

As a student at this school, I feel as though I am getting a higher education than the average person. Attending this school gives me the advantage of a wider range of knowledge.

After graduating from CSG several years ago and continuing to an Ivy League university, I was surprised to learn that not all women are as confident and intelligent as my peers at CSG. The availability of positions on sports teams to those who wanted to play, the high level of interaction between students and teachers, and the school's belief in the talent of its students all had very positive effects on my development. Diversity is welcomed by students and faculty; if a discriminatory or racist incident were to occur, I have confidence that the school would deal with it immediately. My only criticism is that in recent years the school seems to have admitted more ultra-wealthy students with lower academic credentials; while this undoubtedly helps with 'fundraising,' I believe it has degraded the overall quality of the CSG education; I would like to see more scholarship students in the classes.

the acadmic programs are not bad, they are pretty challanging. they need to add a softball team, but other then that the sports are pretty good, over half the school plays sports. The art department need to expand.

As a former student at Columbus School for Girls and a current university student, I can confidently say that CSG gave me the skills I need to be successful at the college level. While many of my classmates in college had never written a real research paper (really, anything over 3 pages), I was comfortable with the workload at college because CSG had prepared me so well. The faculty are amazing--they are very engaged with all students--not only will they know the names of most girls in the school, but many of my teachers knew my parents and other siblings as well. I couldn't have asked for a better high school experience.

I have a daughter that attends this school I really like it because she gets the best education. She doesn't like it cause she says the girls are too 'cliquish'.

I attended CSG from the 6th grade until I graduated in 2001. I am a African-American and I found there was NO prejuidice there. CSG is very diverse and accepting of all people. It was the best education I could have obtained. I have four younger sibilings who are attending co-ed public schools right now and I am now able to see just how blessed I was to attend CSG. CSG provides a wonderful, diverse, loving enviorment and I would recommend it to anyone who wants their children to be prepared for college and prosperous in life.

I am currently a sophomore at CSG and love it. I started at CSG in 7th grade. The atmosphere is wonderful for learning, and the teachers are kind and great teachers. I know that the many things I learn at school with be used all throughout my life.

CSG has provided my daughters with an outstanding educational experience combining a rigorous and interdisciplinary curriculum with an environment which encourages individual thought and growth. Each girl truly finds a voice, and learns how to articulate her beliefs and thoughts with confidence and poise.

We sent our daughter to CSG for 2 years when she became overly distracted by boys at school. She is now back in a co-ed setting, but the study habits she learned and her desire for excellence have remained. On a down note, this was the first setting in which she encountered bias against 'poor' people and African-Americans. She is white and upper middle class and was horrified.

Incredible school! Wonderful atmoshpere filled with support. Girls gain self-esteem and are challenged.

My daughter loves to go to school everyday. She feels safe and accepted in the CSG community. I cannot say enough good things about CSG and its Faculty, Staff and Administration. I rate CSG a 5 star school!

Outstanding faculty who promote great study habits.
