Kae Avenue Elementary School Reviews

Teachers have an endless caring attitude. My sons were students at Kae Avenue Elementary. They were a challenge many days. But the teachers helped them learn not just academics, but also how to be students in the community of the school. They complimented all the work I was doing with my sons outside of school.

I feel this school is outstanding and makes sure that children feel supported and are able to take advantage of every opportunity the school and the staff has to offer. It is disappointing that one or two people are able to use the greats schools site to perpetuate untruths about the school. The principal, teachers and support staff are among the finest individuals I have ever met in a school setting. We are is fortunate to have them in our school serving our children.

The teacher's are very caring and supportive of their students. I cannot say the same for the principal. It is sad when I have to find out from my child that a BB gun, Paintball gun, & a pocket knife have all been brought to the school in the last few week. I guess the parent's don't need to know about these incidents. I have volunteered in the building on several occasions & found her to be very unfriendly towards 'outsiders'. I have seen her ridicule a teacher in front of her students & I have seen her belittle students and parents. I do not volunteer anymore because of how she treats everyone. I agree with other posters, the school is like a prison.

I believe that the Principal and staff members work very hard to make sure the students are learning in a safe environment. I have always been greeted warmly and feel I can get all my questions answered.

Let me start by saying the majority of the teachers at Kae Avenue are fabulous! However, the principal is horrible and that is the nicest thing I can say. You can not call her on the phone and speak with her (I had to call the administration building before I could get a response from her). You can not walk into the building and speak with her

How true all of the previous comments are! I have three children and all of them have attended Kae Avenue. My youngest is 9 and in the third grade at Kae and I could not say enough positive things about the teacher that he has. On an very sad note is the fact that none of these WONDERFUL teachers can teach to their full capacity because of Ms. Berta Johnson, the schools out of touch and dominant principal! The atmosphere of the school is reminiscent of a prison or juvenille detention center. You cannot speak to Ms. Johnson on most occasions and if by chance you are able to issues fall on deaf ears. It is her way or no way! Very sad for the school, parents and children who would otherwise thrive at such critical years.

I feel as a parent with a student in Kae Avenue that the school has went downhill in the past 4 years. I blame the Principle. She is very degrading to others. She has ruined the PTA involvement. In the past the PTA would reward the 5th Grade Students with a trip to Kings Island which she stopped about 3 years ago. She has ruined the welcoming atmosphere tha the school use to have. The school feel more like a prison then a school. Its sad when You have kids that love school but don; want to go because of her.. The ONLY good thing about Kae Avenue is the TEACHERS!Kae Avenue need a new and better Principal and Office Staff

Kae Avenue sends home a monthly newsletter with a calendar of school events. Kae Avenue has had an afterschool tutoring program which include instructional time, enrichment activities and a light dinner until almost 6 PM. There are scout troops in the community as well as sports through the city's Parks and Rec programs. There is a summer school program at the beginning of the summer also. Kae Avenue has at least 2 Music programs per year, we have a Cultural Festival which is a big event, Ice Cream social the day before school starts, just to name a few events. Our district has limited funds and the staff always gives more than they are required. I am proud to teach at Kae!

The teachers at Kae Avenue really care about their students. I have seen the put in a lot of extra time and effort for their students' learning

As a busy working parent it is diffitcult to stay informed about after school programs. It would be better for busy parents like myself to recive a monthly news letter regarding this and other subjects of interest for other parents. My son has attened this school for 2 years and I am disapointed to say that I dont not know of any afterschool activites provided by the school if they have any at all.
